There was always something creative going on in my home growing up, so have naturally been guided towards life as a maker of things.
i studied visual arts at Whitireia Community Polytechnic majoring in fine metals graduating in 2001.
Jewellery can take on personal value that far exceeds that of which it is made,in that respect jewellery as a medium utterly appealing.
i am a participant member of handshake 4,
jewellery development mentoring project.
and was lucky to be mentored by Judy Darragh throughout 2017-2018 which has had a significant impact on my practice. you can learn more about this fantastic project here: HANDSHAKE PROJECT
in 2018 i was the recipient of a creative New Zealand research and development grant which took me to Amsterdam, Paris and Munich which has help me to further my own practice and inform my role as an educator.
in 2018 i co-founded the jewel and the jeweller contemporary jewellery workshop and studio, along with the talented Sam Kelly.
