we make sacrifices here
Oct 19 - Dec 10, leanings
Handshake 4, Pah Homestead, Auckland
This work is part confession part celebration of my rural experience as a maker.
Being a part of the handshake project given me the chance to really look hard at my practice and figure out where things fit. using materials gathered from my local environment and a provincial vernacular “we make sacrifices here” talks about toil, isolation and making do.The development of this work has been cathartic and signifies for me a personal transition into a new contemporary jewellery landscape.
